Fairchild Gardens

We were lucky enough to get one more cool day before the Florida heat sets in for the summer. It was a perfect day for a little road trip. Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens is a bit of a drive at three hours, but it was totally worth the drive!

They have some beautifully unique specimens. They also have over 400 varieties of palms, which was pretty cool. I wasn’t super impressed with their orchids; which is odd considering they’re the home of the American Orchid Society.  I’ve been spoiled by the amazing orchids at Shelby Gardens!  The best part of the whole place was the Wings of the Tropics exhibit in the Clinton Family Conservatory… so many amazing butterflies!  I will definitely be going back to Fairchild, but not until the weather cools off again.
