If it’s birds or alligators you’re looking for, this tour’s for you. We’ll explore a variety of locations where you’re sure to see a great medley of shorebirds. Depending on the time of year and the location we choose, you’re likely to see little blue herons, great blue herons, snowy egrets, roseate spoonbills, green herons, common gallinules, wood storks, sandhill cranes, and more.
This is a walking tour and can be held in Sarasota, Lakeland, North Port, Punta Gorda, Lehigh Acres, or Ft. Myers. Participants must be able to walk for 1-3 miles. Please let me know if you need accommodations and I’ll do my best to provide the very best possible location for you to have a good experience.
This tour, like all tours I offer, is a photo-based tour. This means you’ll have plenty of opportunities to stop and take pictures. It is not required that you have a camera. Tours are appropriate for those who just want a little guidance and education about what they’re seeing here in Southwest Florida.
Tours take 1-3 hours depending on the location and the level of interest you have. Meaning, if you ask a lot of questions, I’m happy to spend time answering them. This may prolong your tour up to three hours, but that’s perfectly fine with me if it’s fine with you! The minimum amount of time you’ll have on a tour is one hour. Times are flexible based on availability and I only offer one tour per day to accomodate my guests without anybody feeling rushed. If you only have one hour due to a limited schedule, we can accomodate that too!
This tour will have you slow down and look closely to see what’s in bloom. Florida is home to an abundant variety of wildflowers that bloom all year long. Some are bold and large, and others are tiny and often overlooked. As a photography focused tour, this outing is perfect if you love macro photography. Like the birding and wildlife tour, you do not have to bring a camera to enjoy the tour. It’s perfect to simply enjoy the beauty around us and learn a bit about what’s growing.
The rest of the information about this tour is identical to the birding and wildlife tour above.
Kayak tours are available, but you must provide and transport your own kayak. Please contact me for information about this option.
Some parks have an admission fee separate from my cost, but most do not. I’ll inform you of any entry fees, along with directions and parking information when you sign up for your tour.
Tours are designed for 1-8 people, and you and those you bring with you will be the only people on your tour. These excursions are personalized to your interests and I prefer small groups. If you have more than eight people in your group, a fee will be required for each additional person. There is a maximum of twelve people on each tour, regardless of age.
Children 12 and under are free, but they do count toward your maximum number of people.
1-8 people for 1-3 hours – $129.99
Each additional person – $19.99
I accept all major credit cards. Payment is due in full to reserve your tour date and time.
